Excited to find this site. I am wife to Ernie who homeschools are children but stays away from the computer unless to check some sports scores every now and then. The pattern seems that I will teach the kids their letters, letter sounds and 3 letter words, shapes, ect ect but then 1st grade I go out of my mind and dh takes over. He has been homeschooling for 3 yrs now. Our dc have never been to public school and my dh has your attitudes, theres is NO WAY they will attend public school. They almost had an opp. to go to private christian school but we're afraid to lose the valuable family time we have come comfortable with (plus even with 50% is still to much money for us).
Ernie started homeschooling after he recovered from his chemo. We owned a successful landscaping buisness but then he got cancer in his spine. He is cancer free today, PTL! THANK YOU JESUS! but struggles daily with pain.
I didnt know where to post this so i hope this message on the message board so I hope this will be ok.
I read the comments on what to do when your wife gets jealous, which I have been but I found where I can help and enjoy it. I take the kids to the libary 1x a week. I help in encouraging them in reading and getting them to their sports functions.
nice to meet you all. i will be my dh voice on this website.[/b]

Welcome. I will be keeping your husband in my prayers. I hope we can all be encouraging to you and your husband. What kind of curriculum will your children be using.

I have been homeschooling my children since their ages of 3. They have never been to a school and my desire is to not send them to a public school. They are copping quite well.

My wife gets jealous now on then when we go on fun field trips and can't participate. However, she does take time of work once in a great while to come and now and then go in my place.

my dh uses alpha omega but he has been saying he want to try and do something different. not sure he'll have the opp. to shop for something different.
i have been taking the kids to the libary once a week and getting a ton of books for each of their reading levels and they have been loving it. so if their reading levels increase by next school read i will feel proud i contributed. i have always loved to read to my kids.
our kids too have never been to public school. i was upset with that at first but i am on board with my dh now but ask me if i am on board with it again when he is having a bad homeschool day. Smile
thanks for the reply.
