KANSAS CITY, Mo. Marcus Kruger Jersey . -- Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair damage to his cartilage this week and could miss the remainder of the season. The rookie out of Cincinnati has been dealing with what the Chiefs thought was a bone bruise since training camp. A series of MRI exams had come back negative, so orthopedic surgeon Dr. Cris Barnthouse did an arthroscopic procedure Tuesday that revealed the injury. Head trainer Rick Burkholder acknowledged it could be season-ending, but coach Andy Reid said the Chiefs were not in a hurry to place Kelce on injured reserve. "Were going to give it a little time. Weve done that to this point," Reid said. "Theres nothing lost there, just to give it time. ... Its a shame that it happened, but the procedure, it happens. Ive been there personally with knees. I get the picture. I know how it works." Burkholder said Kelce had returned to the Chiefs on Wednesday to begin rehab, and that the training staff will attempt to get him on the field at some point this season. "I think this is an injury people get better from," Burkholder said. "Hes a young guy. Hes got a good, healthy knee. We protected him so he didnt do any additional damage. That gives him the best chance to come back and have a good, long career." Kelce has not played this season after the Chiefs selected him in the third round of the draft. His absence, along with that of Anthony Fasano, who has been dealing with a sprained ankle, has left the Chiefs perilously thin at tight end. In other injury news, linebacker Justin Houston has passed a series of concussion tests after taking a blow to his head and neck last Sunday. Reid said the leagues second-leading sacker would not practice on Wednesday but should be ready for Sundays game against Oakland. Houston already has 8 1/2 sacks during the Chiefs 5-0 start. "Hes going through all the protocol and so far hes clear of any signs of (a concussion)," Reid said. "But were taking him through that whole protocol on that and just making sure. The kid is doing a nice job and we dont want to do anything to jeopardize him right now." Running back Jamaal Charles was also held out of practice because of blisters that cropped up on his feet a couple weeks ago. He played last Sunday at Tennessee but is still dealing with them. "As a quarterback Ive had my fair share of blisters," said QB Alex Smith, "but nothing that looks like his. You develop your own secret to get through them." Charles wasnt available in the locker room Wednesday. "Theyve got to be bugging him," Chiefs tight end Sean McGrath said. "Its something he has to take care of and the training staff will do a great job of getting him ready." Chris Chelios Jersey . Wayne and Cindy Tuck of Ilderton, Ont., closed out round-robin play earlier in the day with a 7-3 win over Finland but needed a win over Austria to reach the final eight. Erik Gustafsson Jersey . The Tiger-Cats announced on Friday the linebacker has signed a new contract with the team through the 2016 season. http://www.officialblackhawksauthority.com/bobby-orr-blackhawks-jersey-c-25/ .com) - Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will sit out Thursdays game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with left knee soreness.DALY CITY, Calif. -- Stacy Lewis matched playing partner Lydia Ko with birdies on Nos. 15 and 16 and added another on the 17th to take a one-stroke lead Saturday in the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. Lewis and the 17-year-old Ko first played together two years ago, developing an on-course friendship features fist bumps and lots of chatter. "Weve played a lot of golf together," said Lewis, 12 years older than her counterpart. "I was impressed with her then. I think the best part of her game is the maturity." The third-ranked Lewis and fourth-ranked Ko each shot 4-under 68 at Lake Merced. Winless since the Womens British Open in August, Lewis had a 10-under 206 total. Ko won the Canadian Womens Open as an amateur the last two years and took the Swinging Skirts World Ladies Masters in December in Thailand in her second start as a professional. She has five victories in pro events. Lewis and Ko first played each other in the final round of the 2012 Canadian Open, when the then 15-year-old became the youngest winner in LPGA Tour history. "We both play fast and we got into a good rhythm," said Lewis, who has five runner-up finishes since her victory at St. Andrews. "Its nice to play with someone who is playing well. I think it made both of us elevate our game." Lewis matched shots with Ko, who celebrated her birthday Thursday, throughout the day to retain her edge. "Its fun watching Stacy play," Ko said. "She does make me feel like I have to play better. I always knew she was good. Her rankings and scores show that. CM Punk Jersey. Its really good for me, as a rookie, to play with a player like Stacy. Its a great opportunity for me to learn from another great player." Theyve played together through the first three rounds. "Its fun to be in the last group," Lewis said. "I know the crowd got into there. I think they were tired of us making pars, so we both went on a run there and made a few birdies for them." Lewis played bogey-free on a difficult course that was hit hard by rain Friday. "This is probably the worst Ive hit the ball all week," she said. "This course is so hard you can make a bogey real quick. I was putting good, so when I hit a couple of good putts for par, I got some momentum going." Jenny Shin was four strokes back at 6 under. She also shot 68. "My whole life I hit my putts short," Shin said. "Hitting it past the hole was my main goal this year. I had some long putts that fell in that helped turn it into a better round." Hee Young Park also shot a 68 to move into fourth at 5 under. "It was freezing and rainy yesterday and the win was always changing," she said. "Today the weather was perfect. That was the big difference." Michelle Wie, the winner last week in Hawaii, was tied for 13th at 1 under after a 71. She played the first two rounds with Lewis and Ko. "I think I was just a little tired from last week," Wie said. "So many emotions, celebrating, and travelling back here. I got some good rest."
