I have noticed that older kids are not part of the P.E. groups. Are you finding this as a problem and are there any suggestions to what could be done. My eldest child isn't enjoying P.E. as much because there is a lack of older kids.

Hi Barti,

We have only had intermittent opportunities for our kids, regardless of age, to have PE within the co-op we work with so we do various programs at home. These range from hiking, swimming, weight training, circuit training, yoga, Taebo and more. I happen to be a certified personal trainer which gives me background in planning these things but there are many excellent books out there to help the unsure parent develop safe, effective and fun programs for the entire family. Outside of home, our kids have been taking karate classes for some time too. In addition to those activities, we have the benefit of having an excellent commuity rec. department through which the kids play team sports.
