Howdy All,

I just wanted to stop & ask for prayer. I'm really going through a lot right now with my weight. I've always had a problem, but during the last 6 months, it's gotten out-of-hand. I've actually gained about 30 pounds since the beginning of the year. Two weeks ago, I had a major allergic reaction (almost had to go to ER, but the Benadryl kicked in). Since then, I've been absolutely exhausted - sometimes sleeping 9 1/2 hours a day & getting up as tired as when I went to bed. I went to the doc today & got a shot that's supposed to help.

I've also had to stop using my anti-depressant due to some other side effects. But the biggest problem is that I just don't know how to deal with emotions & stress in a positive way.

Anyhow, just thought I'd ask for prayers.

Thanks & Godspeed.

I just said a prayer for you. Have you gone to an allergist to see what you are allergic to? Have you checked to see if you have either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?

thanks for the prayers bartii. I am doing better today. The shots that they gave me yesterday really seemed to help. I'm actually allergic to Ragweed which hit, yep you guessed it 2 weeks ago. The one shot that he gave me yesterday is supposed to last about 6 months. He says he can only give it every 6 months, but the funny thing is that I only need it once a year!

I also just had complete blood work done in May, everything from Diabetes to thyroid, etc. Everything is good. So, I'm really thankful for that. I go back to my PCP next week. I'd love to see a weight specialist, but my wife (also a family doc) told me that there's only 1 in the area and he puts everyone on Phentamine, which I won't go on. I realize that it's a spiritual/psychological issue. Just something I need to keep working on with God, I guess. Smile

Thanks again for your prayers!

Hi Ed,

Better late than never but here's my two prayerful cents worth. I'm glad to read that you're feeling better. It sounds like you've been going through a lot, especially recently. I remember reading another email from you sometime back about weight matters. I can tell that you've been wrestling with it for some time and know too, that you will indeed with God's help, come up with a workable plan. Severe allergy attacks are something I'm familiar with too and know that they do knock you down for awhile. So does the treatment for them. I develop anaphylaxis from bee stings and spent some time in the hospital last summer. Thank God I was spared this summer although we're not done yet...

I have experience in designing fitness plans and would be glad to offer some input on the subject, if you feel it would be helpful. Cyber fitness guidance is far from ideal so I would recommend that when and if you are ready for it, you work with someone.

I'm there for you

Rich
